Well done to the following swimmers who qualified for the North West Region Youth Championships held in Manchester on 5th and 6th May:

Well done in particular to Laura, who came 1st in the final of the Womens 16/17 yrs 50m backstroke in a time of 31.95. Also to Dan who came 2nd in the final of the Mens 17/18 yrs 50m freestyle with a time of 26.00 and Shiona who also took 2nd place in the Womens 16/17 yrs 50m butterfly final in a time of 30.19. George also claimed his place on the podium, finishing in 3rd place in the Mens 15/16 yrs 200m Butterfly in 2:28.37.
Katrina qualified as a reserve for the final of the Women's 14/15 yrs 50m Butterfly. Matthew also had an excellent swim in the Mens 15/16 yrs 100m breaststroke and would have made the final, but unfortunately was disqualified for moving at the start.
In addition to the above, several other places were also achieved in the finals:
George (7th in 50m fly), Laura (5th in 50m free, 5th in 100m free, 7th in 100m back), Dan (4th in 100m free), Shiona (6th in 50m back, 5th in 100m fly).
